The Gospel of Memes

That’s not a bad definition of a meme. The main point is that a concept – an idea – becomes unquestioned.

Whether it’s a political idea, a scientific idea or even a nutritional idea (“organic is great!”), when memes are taken as gospel, we don’t question them, we take them as Truth.

This phrase comes from John Perkins’ book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man:
